What is a Blank Billboard?
Blank Billboards are a very unique way to advertise on the internet. Potential customers or contacts move their cursor over the displayed Blank Billboards and a personal message that you have specified about your website or link is displayed. The potential customer or contact at that point can click on your Blank Billboard and go directly to your specified site giving you more traffic to your website and potentially a new customer. It is this unique searching and clicking experience that makes our site so intriguing. Blank Billboards is a community that is trying to better the world by donations and trying to promote others websites in the process.

Why are Blank Billboards worthwhile?
Blank Billboards are a very inexpensive advertising solution that will bring more visitors to your website and the inbound link will raise your presence with online search engines. At the same time, you will be donating $2.50 to a charity of your choice for each Blank Billboard purchased. As an added bonus, you will be registered win the Grand Price of $50,000. Inexpensive advertising and money going towards a good cause makes this solution a worthwhile venture for all of our advertisers.

What do I get for my advertising Money?
When you purchase a Blank Billboard you are essentially purchasing a piece of online real state. Your square or squares depending on how many you purchase are yours to advertise your online site with. You can decide the color of the square, you can determine the Pop-Up text that will be displayed when a user puts their cursor over your square and you can also specify the final link taking the customer from the Blank Billboards website directly to your website. We also ask you to categorize your website and to provide us with Keywords that better describe what your website is about. Blank billboards will then take all of the information about your site and keywords and promote your website by submitting your site to website search engines so that they will crawl your site and index it more readily. This is a free service that is included with your purchase. Your site will also be placed on Our Advertisers page and will be sorted by name for easy reference by potential customers.

How many Blank Billboards are there?
The website is designed to only have enough room for One Million Blank Billboards. No additional spots will ever be made available. Get one while you can.

How long is my Blank Billboard going to remain active?
Your Blank Billboard will be guaranteed to be active for 10 years from the launch of the website.

Is there any additional expense later on?
No, your Blank Billboard will never cost you more than $10, guaranteed.

How much money is donated to my charity of choice?
Each Blank Billboard advertising space costs $10. 25% of that ($2.50) goes directly to the charities and the other 75% ($7.50) goes into the website for development, maintenance, credit card fees, server and email fees, account review, taxes, promotion and administrative fees to keep the website up and running. If all of the one million Blank Billboards are sold, a grand total of $2,500,000.00 will have been paid out to charities.

When is the charitable money dispersed?
Once a year on the anniversary of the website launch, checks will be sent to each of the charities. Each advertiser selected which of the ten charities they wanted their $2.50 per Blank Billboard to be sent to. These amounts are totaled and each charity is given the appropriate amount. The amount of the donations is 25% of all Blank Billboard sales been received in the past year. For example, if 1000 Blank Billboards are sold at $10 each, there is $10,000 in total sales, 25% of which is guaranteed to be dispersed to the selected charities. The disbursement process is overseen and audited by a third party accounting firm [Trust Link].

Will I be notified when charity money is dispersed?
Yes, each and every advertiser who has purchased a Blank Billboard will be notified via email how much money has been sent to each charity. Remember, this is a community involvement and the donations will be made to the charities in the name of our members. It is your combined money that is going to make the difference.

Can I change my Add Text that is associated with by Blank Billboard?
Absolutely, we understand that over time your message to capture your audience may change and you can change your Add Text at anytime by simply logging into your account and changed the Add Text.

Can I change my URL or Link?
No, there is no way to change the approved URL or Link

What types of links are allowed?
Anyone with a website, homepage, HTML, blog, Myspace Page, Facebook or any other online link can advertise as long as they have the authority to link to that URL.

What types of links are NOT allowed?
We cannot tolerate any pornographic, nudity, swearing, sexist, racist, hate group propaganda, profane or questionable material advertising on our website. All Blank Billboard links and Add Text will be individually reviewed by a human being prior to publishing the Blank Billboard. If you identify a link or find and advertiser that is abusing the site, please report it to us at concern@blankbillboardsforcharity.com

Can I report dead or inappropriate links?
Yes, if you find that a link is no longer working or is now pointing to a questionable or inappropriate website, please email us at concern@blankbillboardsforcharity.com and we will look into the issue immediately.

Can I remove my Blank Billboard from the site?
By all means, if you decide that you want your advertising campaign stopped, just sign into your account and Delete your Blank Billboard advertisement.

Where is my Blank Billboard placed on the site?
Once you Blank Billboard is approved, it will be placed at random amongst the many other Blank Billboards on the site. The approval process will usually take less than 24 hours to complete.

Does my Blank Billboard stay in the same place?
No, that is the beauty of the system. Once a day the Blank Billboards are randomly shuffled by redistributed over the advertising space. This allows everyone an equal chance at the prime advertising area on the first couple of pages of the site.

What are Sponsored Links?
Sponsored Links are banner type ads that appear on the right side of the website. These Sponsors pay a premium to be advertised in this area of the website. This revenue is used to continue to promote the website and bring more visitors to the site for our Blank Billboard advertisers.

What if I want to donate more money?
That is very simple, purchase additional Blank Billboards. You can buy 1 billboard or 1000 billboards if you want, the more you buy, the more advertising you get on the site and the more money that will go to your chosen charities. Why should I not just donate straight to the charities? By all means, please go directly to our Charity List and you can click on the links that takes you directly to their official website and you can donate directly to any of the charities that we have listed. The strength of our system is that we can potentially donate large sums of money that can make the largest impact. But by all means, if you want to just donate $2.50 directly, please do so.

Why these Charities?
There are thousands of charities around the world and there are organizations that keep track of activities of non-profit charitable organizations and give them a grade. We have used the recommendations of the American Institute of Philanthropy (www.charitywatch.org) to choose 10 top rated charities. These charities address a broad spectrum of issues that face this world. All of the charities that appear on our list have at least an “A” grading (excellent rating). More informed giving brings the satisfaction of increasing the dollars nonprofits spend on bona-fide charitable programs and services.

Can I specify what charity gets the donation from my purchase?
Yes, when you purchase your Blank Billboard you can select which of the 10 charities you want to money to be sent to.

Why can I only pay with Paypal?
Paypal is the world leader in online payment processing and it is the safest and most secure of paying online. No financial information is ever shared or collected on our site so you know your payment is getting to us safely and securely.

Who manages the Blank Billboards website?
The website has been developed by Shane Balkowitsch, doing business as Blank Billboards for Charity located in Bismarck, North Dakota. Shane Balkowitsch founded Balkowitsch Enterprises, Inc. an online sales company over 10 years ago and wanted to develop an online marketing program to give back to charitable organizations. He recognizes the power of the internet and with his team of programmers he has developed this system to give a little back while at the same time providing a viable marketing service to its advertising customers. The website was programmed and maintained by Shaun Ahlgen of Internet Design & Consulting  also located in Bismarck. It is the collaboration of these two small family run businesses that has been able to bring Blank Billboards for Charity to the online community. It is our goal to make a difference to our advertisers and to make a difference to the charities that we feel strongly about.

Trust - Who monitors the Charitable Donations?
Blank Billboards for Charity takes charitable donations very seriously. That is why on a bi-annual basis, the books and records of all money collected that has been earmarked for the charities is verified and audited. Jon Goodhart of the accounting firm Mahlum Goodhart, PC performs these audits and will closely oversea the yearly disbursement checks to our ten charitable organizations. Trust and honesty are the foundation of our goal of giving back.
